How do I Love Thee? Let Me Count the Ways
Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806-1861)
This poem title is very familiar to most of us. I regularly tell people how much I love my work and I mean it!
But… exactly HOW do I love my work and relay that message to my clients and patients? Let me count the ways…
- I’m dependable. If I say I’ll be there, I’ll be there… period. If I encounter an emergency, you will receive a call with explanation. In the 12 years I’ve been providing massage, I don’t recall one instance where a customer arrived, and I wasn’t prepared. It’s just who I am.
- I’m ethical. I’ll provide the best service I possibly can. If you’ve paid for a 60-minute massage, you’ll get a 60-min massage. (Unless you’re late.)
- I’ll be fair. Services are 100% guaranteed. That simply means if you didn’t like your service, you don’t pay. I’ve refunded payment one time over my 12-year career. I won’t charge over fair-market value for my services, in fact, I’m currently under fair-market value for massage in our area.
- I stay current on the latest training. This allows me to provide the best techniques. My training is extensive, and I pride myself on the specialties I provide. I was recently assigned to serve on the Arkansas Department of Health Cosmetology and Massage Therapy Section as an advisor.
- I provide a clean environment. I am fortunate to be in a space that was renovated days before I moved in. New carpet, new paint, new bathrooms, even new ceiling tile and light fixtures. I work hard to keep it clean – regular vacuuming, dusting, Clorox wiping door handles, light switches, lotion bottles, chairs, and all surfaces. I like being in charge of this responsibility because I know it gets done right.
- I provide a safe environment. While you are getting on the table, I lock the outside door so that no one can enter during the massage. If after hours, the door to the parking lot is also locked. Following the massage, I’ll walk with you to the parking lot as needed.
- Linens – I use only the best. They are 100% polyester from the Comphy Co. Clients often comment on how they feel. Of course, they are changed following each session and laundered at the end of each day.
- Lotions/oils – I use only high-quality lotions and oils from Biotone. No Cocoa Butter lotion from Wal-Mart and no coconut oil from the grocery store. Your body, and my hands deserve the good stuff.
- Compassion – I truly want to understand your needs so that I can provide the massage that your body needs every time you come.
- The facts. I have a detailed Health History Form that I ask you to complete prior to your first visit. At the start of each subsequent visit, I check in with you about your current needs. This is your time and I strive to provide the massage you want during every session.
So that sums it up! I love you guys and I love the work you allow me to do. I am eager to serve you through massage therapy and appreciate the fact that if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t get to do what my heart calls me to do.
The thought of sharing this came to me this morning and stuck. When that happens, I feel it’s a direct download from God and I need to share. I ask Him regularly to guide and direct me.
See you on the table soon! You can schedule here, or give me a call – 501-915-4012.
Warmly,
