Struggling with gift ideas? The holidays can be hard when your loved-one is confined to home or care facility. After all, this is a time of thanksgiving. How can you show your love and celebrate food and family?
Here are five gift suggestions when thinking about food:
- Favorite meal – adapted to any restrictions that may be in place
- Gift card for a meal later
- Favorite snacks, coffee, tea
- Nice mug with lid
- Water bottle with straw
And five more gift suggestions as I think about family:
- Spend the morning/afternoon with your loved-one watching a movie at the bedside or where ever they are
- Read a chapter or two of their favorite book out loud to them
- Sit next to the bed and hold a hand with gentle, loving care
- Reminisce about days gone by – maybe pull out the box of old photos
- Frame a few favorite photos to have near the bedside
May your Thanksgiving be full of warmth and good memories!
