5 Easy Way to Reduce Stress using Lavender Essential Oil

December 30, 2017

Reduce stress with lavender oil. Lavender is one of the most versatile essential oils.  It’s most commonly known for its relaxing benefits. The fragrance is calming, relaxing and balancing – physically and emotionally.

  1. Stressful Moments – Rub 2-3 drop of lavender oil in your palms and inhale. Inhale deeply as if trying to get the scent all the way to your brain. This can be done discreetly if you are in a group setting. Dab a few drops on your temples and one under your nose so that the scent remains. Breathe…  This is great for use in crowded areas like planes or trains to carve out your own personal oasis.
  2. Hot Bath – There is something very magical about setting aside specific time for a hot bath.  Make it special. Warm the room, fill the tub, light a few candles and add 5-10 drops of Lavender Essential oil to the water. Don’t forget, hang a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door. Relax and feel the stress melt away.
  3. Pillow Case – enjoy the calming scent of lavender until you drift off to sleep. Rub a few drops of Lavender Essential oil between your palms and then spread over the pillow case. Your room will be filled with the calming scent.
  4. Lavender Tea – enjoy a cup of hot tea when stressed. Keep lavender tea on hand and brew a cup as needed. The scent, as well as the warmth, will help. It’s pretty tasty too.
  5. Massage Lotion – add 2-3 drops of Lavender Essential Oil to 4-6 ounces of your favorite lotion. Rub lotion on to arms, legs and feet. Enjoy the relaxing scent and the hydration to your skin.

BONUS TIP – oil diffuser. Add a few drops of Lavender Essential Oil to a diffuser to infuse the sweet scent throughout your room or office for continual stress management.
